DAY 12: LOVE TOUR

5/12/2014

Last night in Medicine Hat, Alberta, was like landing in the lap of love, being welcomed into the home of Piet and Ina Visser, and sharing dinner with them and their giant entourage of family and friends. The genuine spirit of  affection and enjoyment in this gathering is hard to describe without getting maudlin.

We did eight interviews for the Love Tour, starting with Ina's 94-year-old mom, Gaye Langejans, who immigrated from the Netherlands as a young mother. Here are a few pics from the evening. Wish I'd taken more! (There's a * next to the names of the folks we interviewed.)

We got into Calgary early this evening and went out for dinner with our hostess Christy Turner and later interviewed her at her home. Tomorrow we'll do some interviews downtown.

Here's a bit from our interview with Allyssa Lewis, filmed in White River, Ontario.

If any of these interviews resonate with your own experience, please leave a comment below.
